Aspen HYSYS Reformer
(formerly Aspen RefSYS Reformer™)
Easy-to-use and rigorous naphtha reformer model
Aspen HYSYS Reformer is used to simulate a refinery naphtha reforming unit. These units produce reformate used as motor gasoline blendstock or BTX extraction feed. Aspen HYSYS Reformer is based on a rigorous, multiple-lump reaction system that is similar to full gas chromatographs of the feed and reformate. It is deeply and conveniently integrated into more complex flowsheets using standard Aspen HYSYS® models and work processes, bringing high fidelity reformer modeling to a broader audience with its friendly HYSYS-based interface. Aspen HYSYS Reformer is a core element of aspenONE™ Process Engineering for Refining and Marketing.
Features
- Unit Operation Structure: Aspen HYSYS Reformer is an Aspen HYSYS Petroleum Refining unit operation that you can drag and drop onto a flowsheet like any other Aspen HYSYS unit operation and quickly integrate with a larger flowsheet.
- Rigorous Reactor: The core models are rigorous reactors with associated recycle gas system. Reactor kinetics and endothermic temperature profiles are solved using rigorous AspenTech thermodynamics.
- Multiple Configurations: Multiple reactors (up to six) can be configured with easy-to-use wizards. Options span the semi-regenerative, regenerative, and continuous types of reformer units.
- Major Variables: All major operational reformer variables are available such as feed rate, feed composition, reactor temperatures, recycle rates, and system pressure.
- Calibration: Powerful data reconciliation options are made easily accessible with friendly Aspen HYSYS-style interfaces to provide new and revolutionary work processes for model calibration.
Benefits
- Improved Operations: Provides accurate analysis of reformer operations to improve profit margins with better feed stock selection and optimized operating targets.
- Capital Expansion Studies: Provides detailed information about reformer performance in debottlenecking studies.
- LP Planning Model Support: Provides accurate data for the support of the reformer submodel in the refinery LP planning model (e.g., Aspen PIMS™) to improve refinery crude feedstock selection and plant-wide optimization.
